Michael Hoffman
Tenor
About
Acclaimed for his warm, captive and honest stage presence, Michael Hoffman, a native of Minnesota, is an avid performer and interpreter of art song, oratorio, opera, and choral music. In 2017, he received his Master of Music degree from CU-Boulder in Vocal Performance, and in that same school year had his Carnegie Hall debut performing Schubert’s Auf dem Strom.
Currently an Opera On the Go Artist with Central City Opera, Michael frequently performs with orchestras and ensembles throughout the state and across the country, and won the coveted Denver Lyric Opera Guild Competition in 2018. He holds a successful voice studio in Lakewood, CO, and is the music director of Grace Lutheran Church in Boulder. Despite the challenges of performing and teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic, Michael managed to grow his vocal studio by introducing online lessons, and he maintained weekly virtual choir rehearsals with his church choir.
Stemming from his love of teaching, in the summer of 2018 he and his wife Nadya Hill founded the Mountain Area Chamber Music Festival, a week-long festival for middle and high school vocalists and string players.
Outside the concert hall, and teaching studio, Michael loves spending time in the outdoors, woodworking, gardening, and working with dogs.
